Office Administrator, Shannon Groesbeeck
What I do for Dr. Slaman, here in this office, is to handle all administrative duties from start to finish. For the patient, from the time that they call, for first point of contact, when they come into the practice to see us, and to helping them with treatment plans, assessing their insurance, any other questions and concerns that they may have, and specifics. Sometimes patients do have schedule conflicts and different variances that matter for them that we really want to cater to the patient's needs and their desires to make it, not only a comfortable situation for them to come to, but more [easibility] because we'll be flexible with them. I've had the opportunity to work with many lovely employees here in the office. We have a great camaraderie amongst each other and we're all friends. We take pride in knowing that we help each other in each situation when we can. And that everyone has support from each other and we're not just by ourselves. I've made a lot of great long-life, long-term friendship with these ladies. And one is near and dear to me specifically. She had recently passed away, but she has remained a great spirit here in this office for many of the other ladies as well as the patients who remember her and still come in to have that feeling of when she was here. When a patient can come in and just see that we are working together as a unit and a team, and that we have great respect for each other, it makes them feel good, and knowing that they are going to be in a good place, that they are going to be treated well, and that they can feel part of the family. I want a patient to walk away with knowing when they come in and they have concerns, that they are fearful or have anxiety, knowing then they've left, that they've been taken care of from start to finish. That they are comfortable on how they've been handled. They are a name and a person, that they've been treated well from the clinical staff, as well as with Dr. Slaman. They have a concise treatment plan, and they have an understanding of what will be happening at their next visit. And knowing that they can call at any time with questions or concerns because they are a priority.
